The 21st Fira Mediterrània de Manresa draws its inspiration from rituals. It explores the relationship between popular culture, spirituality and the community and the way this connection can provide inspiration for the contemporary performing arts. Three images connect the rites of passage (a skull), celebratory rituals and those depicting the struggle between good and evil (a dancing devil) and rituals showing our connection with nature (the outline of an oak tree). The image has been created with a piece of stocking fabric studded with tiny bells, which are a common feature of the dances held during popular processions.
